The Encore GX is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive both with three trim levels: Preferred, Select and Essence. Power is supplied by either a 137-hp 1.2-liter turbocharged engine or a 155-hp 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.3L is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: 18-inch aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, passive entry/start, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and Satellite radio. For 2021, the Buick Encore GX gets no major changes except for the addition of Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto as standard on all models. SiriusXM is also now available on all models. The Buick Encore GX also made minor exterior changes to front and rear facias on all models, except for the optional Sport Touring Package.
