The Newest Suburban Carries On A 90-year Tradition Of Carrying Just About Anything

Nine decades ago, Chevrolet created a new family vehicle that became the benchmark for today’s large SUVs. Back in 1935, the Chevrolet Suburban began life as a metal-bodied panel van. It was transformed into a station wagon capable of seating up to eight people. It had a larger cabin area compared to station wagons of the era and was sold to families looking for a “carry-all” to bring everyone and their things everywhere. Ninety years later, the 2025 Suburban continues to be the benchmark for family transportation. It also serves many purposes, from government transportation to limousine services. As always, families come first for this spacious SUV.

Recently, Car and Driver took a spin in the newly revised 2025 Suburban, allowing them to see how our large SUV has progressed over the decades. The first thing they pointed out that they loved about the 2025 Suburban was the available Super Cruise. This driver assistance feature enables the driver to remove their hands from the steering wheel for stretches of highway. This works perfectly for those of us who head west on Interstate 90 to South Dakota for a visit to Mount Rushmore.

Another piece of technology they enjoyed was the larger 17.7-inch touchscreen. They also loved how it was integrated into a new dashboard. This new infotainment system integrates Google Built-in and its associated apps. Through this system, you can use Google Assistant to get directions through Google Maps without having to connect to a smartphone. The screen also offers the advanced Connected Cameras system, which features multiple views that will help owners see all around it even when they are far away.

The Spectacular Backlights of The Fabulous 2025 Chevy Suburban

Among the power choices available on the 2025 Suburban, Car and Driver called out the Duramax diesel engine as a strong choice for consumers. This year, power is up to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. Despite various engine changes, you should still expect superb fuel economy and greater fuel range over long-distance driving.

Another new feature they pointed out was an improvement in the 2025 Suburban’s multilink independent rear suspension system. The suspension system features coil-over shocks and a stabilizer bar, enabling each wheel to react independently, making the driving experience as relaxed as ever. For a more comfortable ride, you can add either the Chevrolet Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension or Magnetic Ride Control on select trim levels to further improve ride quality over the miles.

The Family-Friendly Front Interior Of The 2025 Chevy Suburban

Of course, the 2025 Suburban is engineered to keep everyone safe on board. This year, the list of Chevy Safety Assist driver-assist features has been expanded for 2025. This includes front and rear parking sensors, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and bicyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and rear-seat alert.

All of this points to a much better 2025 Suburban for families to enjoy. Car and Driver agrees that it remains the go-to vehicle for families 90 years after the first one was introduced. Contact us at Chevrolet of Spring Valley to experience the latest Suburban soon!
